Fish River Sun Hotel & Country Club Resort

The Fish River Sun Hotel & Country Club Resort is situated in the heart of the Eastern Cape's Sunshine Coast nestled between the Great Fish River and the Old Woman's River.
It is a Vacation Club Timeshare Resort with RCI Gold Crown status and received a 4 star rating from the Tourism Grading Council as a Hotel. All the units are self-catering and comprises of 37 two-bedroom units (one is disabled friendly), 2 three-bedroom units and a three-bedroom Presidential Suite. The accommodation can also be utilised as hotel rooms. (PLEASE NOTE : From 7 December 2007 till 11 January 2008 there are no hotel rooms available due to timeshare commitments.)

The resort has a superb 18-hole Gary Player designed golf course with a distinctive Parklands layout. The fairways are bordered by natural thick coastal vegetation and rolling sand dunes and offers a number of unique challenges - including several drives across the Old Woman's River.

The Fish River Sun’s Wahoo Restaurant is renowned for its Saturday evening SEAFOOD SPLASH BUFFET. This 120-seater restaurant is open for residents and visitors and offers a buffet or an a la carte menu for dinner. Reservations are essential. The Kontiki Bar is open from 8h00 till 23h00.

The Fish River Sun is a popular choice amongst families and caters for adults and kids alike. Kamp Kwena - a special Kids only club - operates over weekends, school holidays and public holidays and is a free facility for all resident children between the age of 3 and 12 years. A children's outdoor adventure playground is situated next to Kwena Golf – an 18 hole mini golf course. Baby sitting facilities are available on request.

The resort also boasts a scenic - and now heated - swimming pool situated in close proximity to the various units. A shallow pool right next to it caters for the kiddies.

The beach is an easy and relaxed 1,2km walk from the hotel but a shuttle is available till 17h00 daily.

Camp Davis – overlooking the Old Woman’s River –has become a favourite meeting point amongst residents and is home to the laid-back Saloon Bar that operates from 8h00 till 18h00 daily. A beautiful wooden walkway provides a link from this facility to the beach. Inflatable boats, dune boards, umbrellas and braai facilities are available for resident use.

Other facilities available include a squash court, sports green, volleyball court and The Body and Skin Clinic.

Outdoor activities such as nature trails, guided nature walks and night drives are also available. Basic fishing equipment can be hired but will require a fishing licence.

The Fish River Sun Hotel and Country Club Resort is a popular meeting and conference venue and can cater for up to 300 delegates.

The Fish River Sun won the 2007 Imvelo Responsible Tourism Award in the “Best Single Resource Management Programme – Water” category.

LOCATION
The Fish River Sun Hotel & Country Club Resort is situated on the R72 – the main coastal route. The Resort is 185km from Port Elizabeth (2 hours drive), a 100km from East London (1 hour’s drive) and 27 km from Port Alfred.

CLIMATE
Winter:
The average temperature during the day is 18° C, with the mornings being fairly chilly and warming up during the day. Winds are normally strong during winter.

Summer:
Summer temperatures are hot and humid, with the average temperature being about 25°-30° C.
