Safari English

Safari English is a concept which combines learning the English language, with enjoying the splendour of Africa, with an emphasis on activities which will bring students in close contact with nature. The picturesque town of Port Alfred has been chosen for its favourable climate, as well as its close proximity to many locations where students will be able to experience Africa first hand.

Classes of three hours formal language tuition in the mornings are taught by well-qualified professional teachers, who interact with the students in such a way that they are exposed to situational settings in which they are able to apply the acquired language skills. Daily feedback is given to the students so that they are able to realistically assess their own progress.

Accommodation
Students are accommodated in chalets at the Green Fountain Farm Resort (www.greenfountainfarm.co.za). Choices of single or sharing luxurious chalets are available. Classes are held in a conference centre on the farm, with the aid of modern technology and professionally structured lessons, aimed at providing maximum benefit to all levels of proficiency.

Activities
After lessons, during the afternoons and evenings, and also over weekends, activities are arranged for the students. These include visits to the ADDO Elephant Park, Kap River Nature Reserve, Phumba Game Reserve, Sibuya Game Reserve, Lalibela Game Reserve, Kwantu Game Reserve, Shamwari Private Game Reserve. The historical towns of Bathurst and Grahamstown have the following places of interest: Pig and Whistle Pub (oldest and only existing 1820 Settlers pub in Africa), Pineapple Farm, Agriculture Museum, Mohair factory, Fish River Lighthouse, 1820 Settlers Museum.

Students can also choose from the following activities: walks along the beach, horse trails, playing golf, canoe trails, guided tour up the Kowie River on a motorboat, an evening of gambling at the Fish River Sun, deep sea fishing, and a visit to a health spa.
