French singer for Bedford Garden Festival

The renowned French chanteuse, Daniele Pascal, will perform romantic café songs at the Bedford Club during the Garden Festival (23 to 25 October 2009).
Her two shows (Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th) are linked to a gourmet curry dinner with 12 dishes masterminded by Katherine Muller, and presented by The Great East Indian Trading Company. Foodies who relished Katherine’s cuisine at “Spice” in Bedford two years ago are eagerly anticipating the experience.
Daniele Pascale’s repertoire ranges from Stephen Sondheim to Leonard Cohen, to Cole Porter’s vintage hits, Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, through to famous French Café songs from her bestselling album Parisette. There is a jazzy retake of Pink Martini’s sympathique and a shuffle on Cole Porter’s C’est magnifique. Other songs include sous le ciel de Paris, enfin le Printemps, Plaisir d’amour, Que sera sera and many more.
Daniele will also include highlights from her latest show Champagne Taste- a tribute to Eartha Kitt.
Tickets for the evening are R250 per person and include the show and a full curry dinner with starters, main courses and deserts. There will be a menu option for those who do not enjoy curry.
The Bedford club will be open all day during the Garden Festival. Tea and coffee will be on tap and there will be curry in rotti and somoza at lunch.
