For the surf adventurer or beach lover out there who is searching for un-crowded waves and untouched beaches in rugged, unspoiled surroundings we offer the Transkei as an attractive destination. Situated between KwaZulu-Natal and East London, the Transkei is one of South Africa’s last untapped resources when it comes to surf travel. Transkei is for those who wish to escape from the cities and crowds and go exploring the many secluded coves, bays and points for good, quality surf and the most spectacular beaches.

Where is Swell Tours Guest Lodge situated?

Swell Tours Guest Lodge is situated in Mngcibe, on the North side of the Mdumbi River. We have a mind blowing view of the sea and look straight into the eye of Mdumbi Points awesome waves.

How far are we from the beach?
2 minute drive to the beach or river and a 6 minute walk!

How many people do we sleep?

The Guest Lodge sleeps 8 people comfortably although we also offer camping.

How are the rooms set out?

2 – Rondavels – En-suite each with double beds.
2 – Single Rooms – separate bathrooms – two single beds in each

How to you get here and do you need a 4Χ4?
Please contact us for directions. You do not need a 4Χ4 to get to our Guest Lodge but you do drive quite a way on dirt roads.

Please remember when traveling to this spectacular destination, the locals are who make it special! Please help the community in anyway you can – for example, giving tips for work well done, employing our team (below), bringing old clothes, books, pens, paper – you name it, the locals will be so grateful!

What do we cost.

OUT OF SEASON PRICES PER NIGHT – Self Catering:-
Rondavels = R400 per night
(Each Ronnie sleeps two people – double bed – en-suite toilet & shower.)
Single Rooms = R300 per night
(Each Single Room has 2 single beds – separate bathroom.)
Please note there is R100 once off cleaning fee for before your arrival & after your departure.

IN SEASON PRICES PER NIGHT – Self Catering:-
19 March – 3 May, 1 Dec – 10 January and All Public Holiday Weekends
Rondavels = R450 per night
