Makana Meadery

We produce various honey based products. Our most important product is African Mead - Iqhilika - an ancient African alcoholic beverage now produced using a modern hi-tech biotechnological processes. A by-product is honey wine vinegar. We sell honey.

We have an apiary and a beekeeping section. We offer education and training to encourage honey production and can supply a range of beekeeping equipment such as beehives, beesuits, wax etc.

We have a ful sawmill to produce wood for beehives. We also offer sawmill services to hobbyists and the trade and are now producing furniture such as picnic tables and mead racks.
