With the towers, full porches and decorative detailing, Victorian style homes are full of character and charm.

The former De Denne was architecturally designed by Steinhobel, and built in 1894, by Enslin, a local lawyer and Member of Parliament at the time. The detailed contrasting Gothic towers bare testimony to Steinhobel’s architectural brilliance.

Karoo Moons comprises the full extent of both 13 Darling and 11 Brand Streets.

The late Victorian/Edwardian building, situated at 13 Darling Street, comprises of 3 luxurious in suite accommodations. Each suite allows the discerning traveler to experience the opulence and magnificence of the ‘A’ graded listed building with the University of Port Elizabeth.
The detailed Victorian cornices are handsome additions to the formal rooms and bedrooms whilst the yellowwood floors complement the formal dining room.
Completely restoring the exterior, whilst refining the interior, an understated elegance has been created.
The adjoining Manager residence, situated at 11 Brand Street, comprises of 5 urban chic en suite accommodations. Whilst redesigning the interior, the simple exterior Karoo architecture remains unchanged.
From wooden and cement floors to ‘unrestricted’ showers, indulge in this Karoo experience!
Elegant wooden furniture set on cream porcelain tiles, a black cut-glass chandelier, and the hint of fresh masalas and fine Indian authentic cuisine, awaits you at the on site Karoo Moons restaurant.
