Omnia Bathurst Agricultural Show

2008 is the Centenary Bathurst Show and plans are under way for a bumper show! Described by the Land Bank as "the best and only agricultural show in the Eastern Cape", over 200 standholders and 20 000 visitors celebrate all things farming in a festival of competitions, exhibition and demonstrations. The show gives the public a chance to interact with a host of animals and livestock, pineapple and chicory are big industries in the Eastern Cape and there are always large displays and demonstrations devoted to them. Every year, equestrians from all over the country converge on Bathurst to enter the various events, the arena becomes the centre of the show as people gather to watch the show-jumping, dressage and other events. There is always alot of entertainment for the children with clowns, stilt walkers, face painting, jumping castles and gaint water slides. The beer gardens offer live entertainment in the evenings and the food village has a wide variety of stalls. From skydivers to scapbookings, pigs to pottery, the Omnia Bathurst Show has something for everyone!
