The Eastern Cape Tourism Board invites industry stakeholders to participate in the first ever Adventure Province Tourism Awards 2009, which will be held in East London on 26 November 2009. The prestigious event is designed to promote and reward excellence and diversity and aims to become an annual event that will be recognized as the Eastern Cape tourism industry’s most coveted function.
Members of the public and the sector are encouraged to nominate an establishment or service provider in five categories: accommodation, tourism services, best cultural heritage product, biodiversity, and best adventure/tourism experience.
To download a nomination form visit http://www.ectourism.co.za/ or visit your nearest Eastern Cape Tourism Board office.
“We need to jealously guard our brand and ensure that when tourists make contact with our products the experience is not only memorable but thrives on excellence. This is going to be the most coveted awards platform in the Eastern Cape tourism industry, recognizing establishments and service providers boasting the best product, diversity and service delivery that contribute to a distinctive and compelling Adventure Province experience,” explained Zola Tshefu, CEO of the Eastern Cape Tourism Board.
“By recognising the best in the tourism sector, we aim to spur the industry on to new heights, in constantly seeking new ways to exceed visitor expectations and create a stellar visitor experience every time. In its inaugural year, the awards will recognise industry contributions through 32 awards across five categories,” continued Tshefu.
The prestigious event will reward and celebrate all the best aspects of tourism in the Eastern Cape, while also encouraging and inspiring other tourism businesses to achieve. It will be a coming together of some of the most successful and innovative tourism business people in the province on one night, under one roof.
