Revamped NMB 2010 website
NELSON Mandela Bay Municipality’s 2010 Directorate has gone all out to capture the football world’s attention on a re-vamped and interactive website launched today (SUBS: 30 October).
The website is packed with information about the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ and Nelson Mandela Bay, one of South Africa’s nine host cities.
“www.nelsonmandelabay.gov.za/fifaworldcup is interactive and exciting. We have revamped the website because the digital world is a valuable mode of communicating and informing. The revamped site is vibrant, fresh, catchy and packed with information not only for those who might visit our city but also our own people.
“The website is the most trusted, authentic and reliable portal of information about our preparation as a host city and our readiness. It is updated regularly and is just really worth reading,” said Nelson Mandela Bay 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ Marketing, Communications and Events Manager Putco Mafani.
Designed in line with the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s new corporate look, the primary goal of the information-packed and visually attractive 2010 website is to create a sustainable destination for tourists long after the games.
The website promotes the city as a top destination for the international tourist, with detailed information on all the exciting attractions that the city has to offer in terms of entertainment and shopping, accommodation, beaches, game parks, outdoor adventure, arts and culture and more, said Mafani.
“It is user-friendly and includes several new features that include an improved navigation system; detailed weather for the area; a poll allowing users to vote on relevant 2010 subjects; an improved route planner with distances between host cities and a detailed events calendar”.
Users can also catch up on all the latest news related to the FIFA World Cup™, as well as local football, and find information on Nelson Mandela Bay’s world-class stadium and Fan Fest at St George’s Park. Everything the tourist and Bay resident needs to know about 2010 is available at the click of a mouse.
