
Barkly East is named after Sir Henry Barkly, Governor of the Cape is set in one of the most scenic sections of the Eastern Cape Drakensberg Mountains. This small town offers, excellent Trout angling in crystal clear mountain streams.
Species such as the Drakensberg Siskin, Yellowbreasted Pipit, Orangebreasted Rockjumper, Ground Woodpecker and Bearded Vulture to make it a birders paradise and an endless array of wildflower adds depth to the wealth of features which fascinate visitors.
