Bed and Breakfast in the Easten Cape

A vast range of Accommodation exists in the Eastern Cape.  Game lodges, Backpacking lodges / hostels, Guest Houses, Hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, Camp Sites, Self Catering, Boutique Hotels, Guest Farm Stays - you name it - we have got it.

The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA)  performs a vital role in ensuring that a standard of quality is achieved across all the services and facilities offered by the South African tourism industry.  

 

The onus is on you, whether you are an international, national or local tourist to implement your accommodation preference. 

 

Because the grading system is market driven and voluntary it stimulates improvement throughout all levels of service offering. This process continuously encourages the industry to re-invent, revalue and grow itself. In doing so it provides another key in the overall development and transformation of tourism in South Africa.

 

Whilst the stars awarded are an important recognition of an establishments quality, what is perhaps of more importance, is an understanding of the philosophy of a shared responsibility and the end benefit this brings to the customer.

 

Not all establishments in the Eastern Cape are star graded and this does not necessarily mean that they offer a bad service or experience.  The grading process is a voluntary one.  We as the Eastern Cape Parks & Tourism Agency will continue to encourage our tourism service providers to grade where possible.

 

Other recoginised memberships, awards or endorsements to look out for within the industry are:  SATSA, AA, Portfolio Collection, Fair Trade in Tourism, ETEYA and others.  Local Tourism Bureaus have membership listings which can assist you in making the correct choice.

 

Few places in the world boast with such a combination of unrivalled splendour & stark contrast as this second largest province of South Africa.
